Nature-Based Occupational Therapy Day Camp

Camp Objectives:

​

  • Intensive, OT-led programming in nature and around Oak Bloom

  • Neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach

  • Emphasis on sensory play, active movement, and real-life skill building

  • Social communication and peer connection

  • Emotional regulation and self-regulation skills

  • Sensory exploration and integration

  • Gross and fine motor strength, coordination, and endurance

  • Building confidence, independence, and resilience

  • Spending time in nature and having fun!

  • 7/13-7/17 

  • 7/27-7/31 

  • 8/3-8/7

Location:

  • 2 days per week at Oak Bloom OT (in clinic)

  • 3 days per week exploring nature at local sites, such as:

    • Tilden Regional Park

    • Alameda Beach (Crab Cove)

    • Joaquin Miller Park

    • Redwood Regional Park

    • Bridgeview Trail

Who:

  • Ages 4-12 years

  • 2-5 children per day

  • Small, thoughtfully constructed groups

  • Staffing includes:

    • Registered Occupational Therapists

    • Occupational Therapy student

    • 1:1 support available as needed

  • Camp groups will be divided into two groups, with developmental age taken into consideration:

    • Under 6 years​

    • 7 years and up​

​*Specific drop-off locations and weekly schedules will be shared prior to camp start.​

Daily Schedule:

9 am - 1 pm

  • Sensory & fine motor activity stations 

  • Social-emotional circle time with daily lessons & activities

  • Movement & outdoor play

  • Snack and lunchtime (bring your own lunch)

  • Free choice​ exploration & play

Cost:

  • Full week: 5 days x 4 hours/day: 
    $1,200 per week
