OT social groups are designed to meet each clients goals and provide opportunities for peer modeling and social engagement. Research states that children learn from watching each other do a task. Social groups facilitate meaningful interactions and engagement with peers. They can also help in helping a child feel less alone in their experience. Social skill groups will assist in learning: sharing, taking turns, cooperating with other children, following directions, respecting personal space, sustaining friendships, social communication (verbal, gestural, facial expression, tone of voice, and body language), manners/greetings, eye contact, entering in a conversation or play, empathy, or imagination.
To cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid incurring additional fees.
